3 ton art is based on the real-world organization Asian Elephant Art and Conservation Project. The logo, an elephant painting behind an easel, is simple yet effective. The paint strokes used throughout the campaign are from real elephant paintings. The photos are from the book When Elephants Paint. I designed the campaign with witty copy and strong images to convey the organization’s goals. The ad copy reads: The elephants of Thailand and their mahouts (their keepers) are unemployed. The main employer of elephants, the logging industry, has been banned due to deforestation. Now the elephants are reduced to begging on the streets, performing tricks to earn money. 3 ton art is working to get the elephants off the streets and into training camps, teaching them to paint. The money they earn from the paintings goes to help other elephants, domesticated and wild. Help elephants help themselves. Go to www.elephantart.com for more information. |
